Angelo State earns No. 3 seed in NCAA South Central Regional

 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The No. 12 Angelo State baseball team was selected as the No. 3 seed in the South Central Regional of the 2026 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship, the NCAA announced Sunday night.

Angelo State (40-17) will compete at the UT Tyler regional site alongside second-seeded UT Tyler and MSU Denver. Top-seeded Colorado Mesa (49-4) will host the other half of the regional, which includes St. Mary’s and Lubbock Christian.

Colorado Mesa, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament champion, earned the No. 1 overall seed, while UT Tyler (43-10) secured the No. 2 seed.

St. Mary’s (38-17), Lubbock Christian (34-21) and MSU Denver (38-16) round out the six-team field.

The regional will be split into two three-team sites, with winners advancing to a best-of-three Super Regional hosted by the highest remaining seed. A berth in the Division II College World Series will be on the line.
