WALL, TX — Wall High School head baseball coach Jeremy Gordon has announced he will be stepping down at the end of the season.
Gordon has led the Hawks’ program the last three seasons, guiding them to a state title in 2025. Wall is currently moving on to the second round of the Class 3A Division II playoffs after Wednesday’s first-round win over Blanco.
Gordon will be leaving Wall after accepting a job at Austin Westlake.
"I’m sad and happy at the same time. I’m focused on getting back to Dell Diamond first, but looking forward to being part of the Westlake family!' Gordon wrote in a post on X. "I’m grateful for the opportunity @baseball_wallhs gave me. Thanks for taking a chance on a young coach with no experience!"
Gordon has compiled a record of 85-19 in three years at Wall. This year’s squad is 25-9 as it looks to defend its state title.
Gordon and the Hawks will play again next week against Breckenridge or Henrietta in the area round of the playoffs.
Gordon also served as the wide receivers coach for Wall's football team during its state-title run last fall.
