INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The Angelo State University softball team is ranked third in the South Central Region, the NCAA announced Wednesday with the release of its latest regional rankings.
Colorado Christian University holds the top spot in the region, followed by West Texas A&M University at No. 2. Angelo State sits third, ahead of Oklahoma Christian University and the University of Texas at Tyler to round out the top five.
Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Colorado State University Pueblo, and St. Mary's University occupy spots six through eight, while Lubbock Christian University and Texas Woman's University complete the top 10.
The Rambelles enter the final weekend of the regular season with a 42-9 overall record and a 31-5 mark in Lone Star Conference play. Angelo State closes the regular season with doubleheaders against West Texas A&M University and Eastern New Mexico University.
The NCAA is scheduled to release its next set of regional rankings next week. The Division II softball selection show is set for May 11 at 9 a.m. CT on NCAA.com.
