SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State will wrap up the 2026 regular season this weekend, hosting Cameron in a four-game Lone Star Conference series with postseason positioning in the balance.
The No. 14 Rams (32-14) open the series at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Foster Field. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., followed by the finale at 1 p.m. Sunday, which will include a Senior Day ceremony approximately 20 minutes before first pitch.
The Rams will wear commemorative jerseys during the series, which will be auctioned off as part of a silent auction beginning Friday and concluding Saturday.
Angelo State is coming off a record-setting sweep of Eastern New Mexico, highlighted by a 26-17 win Friday — the highest-scoring Lone Star Conference game this season. The Rams set program records with 26 runs and 30 hits in the contest.
Austin Beck and Chase Pendley each recorded five hits in the game, tying a single-game program record. Beck also became Angelo State’s all-time leader in hits and RBIs during Sunday’s finale.
The Rams hit .473 as a team over the weekend, scoring 74 runs. Hunter Holt led the offense with a .643 batting average and 14 runs scored, while Beck posted a .632 average and drove in 19 runs.
Nick Gray delivered a complete-game performance in Game 2 of the series, while Ridge Morgan earned his first win of the season with five innings of relief in Game 3. Luke Spencer added five innings in Sunday’s start, and Garrett Villa, Garrett Baumann and Payton Bush combined for scoreless relief outings.
Angelo State leads the all-time series against Cameron 65-16 and has won 21 consecutive meetings, including 28 of the last 30 dating back to 2018. The Rams are 35-4 against the Aggies at home.
Souting Report: Cameron
Cameron (16-29) enters the weekend under first-year head coach Holden Capps and has already surpassed last season’s win total. The Aggies have lost eight straight games, including recent sweeps by St. Mary’s and Lubbock Christian.
Offensively, Cameron is batting .286 as a team. Wyatt Cunningham leads the lineup with a .417 average, while Zane Roos has 20 doubles, 42 RBIs and 49 runs scored.
On the mound, the Aggies have a 7.24 team ERA. Jaylen Cream leads the staff with a 5.16 ERA and 42 strikeouts, followed by Parker Jensen with a 5.60 ERA.
