SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State will close out the regular season on the road this weekend, looking to cap a historic campaign with matchups against Lubbock Christian on Friday and UT Permian Basin on Saturday.
The Rambelles (20-1, 7-1 Lone Star Conference) face Lubbock Christian at noon Friday in Lubbock before traveling to Odessa for a noon match Saturday against UT Permian Basin.
Under fourth-year head coach Jason Potthoff, Angelo State has posted the best start in program history at 20-1 and sits one win shy of tying the program record for victories. Two wins this weekend would set a new single-season record.
The Rambelles are ranked No. 29 nationally, with Vasilissa Kupriianova ranked No. 26 and Margaux Rene No. 29 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings. The doubles tandem of Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti is ranked No. 17 nationally.
Raggiotti and Sasa Felixova lead the team with 18 singles wins each, while the Rambelles are 103-20 overall in singles play and 42-19 in doubles.
Scouting Report: Lubbock Christian
Lubbock Christian enters at 13-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play, having won its last two matches by 7-0 scores.
The Lady Chaps are led by Kristel Jativa and AnaMaria Zoric, who each have 19 singles wins. The duo of Andrea De Bernardo and Zoric leads the team in doubles with a 16-2 record.
Angelo State holds a 2-1 edge in the series, though LCU won the most recent meeting 5-2 in April 2025.
Scouting Report: UTPB
UT Permian Basin is 6-12 overall and has won its last two matches.
Fanny Bergstrom leads the Falcons with an 8-7 singles record and also paces the team in doubles. UTPB is 36-62 in singles and 21-31 in doubles competition this season.
Angelo State will look to carry its momentum into the postseason as it aims to finish the regular season on a high note.
