SAN ANGELO, TX -- Angelo State University's Mayer Museum will host its second "Night at the Museum" program of the fall semester on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the Mayer Museum at 2501 W. Ave. N.
Night at the Museum will run from 5-8 p.m. and is free and open to community members of all ages. For this installment, the museum will be opening a new exhibit, "Fluxums' Frolic," created and installed by local artists Morgan and Eric Grasham.
Other family-friendly and educational activities scheduled throughout the evening include:
- Sensory Education with Mad Mouse Zoodio
- Sculpture Art Projects with ASU's Kappa Pi art fraternity
- STEM Projects with ASU's Tri-Beta biology honor society
- Artificial Intelligence Activities with ASU's AI Education & Learning Innovation
"Fluxums' Frolic" is a whimsical, family-friendly exhibit created with durable materials safe to (gently) touch. Elements include the Fluxums themselves, made of sculpted UV gel resin, with epoxy diorama structures, miniatures and props, plus laser-cut anti-fray fabric foliage hung from the ceiling, and colored lighting.
Fluxums are a "species" that spreads across the great multiverse to seek out the experiences that life across the stars has to offer. Young Fluxums study and mimic humans to experience and attempt to understand our ways of living. The exhibit is designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
The final ASU Night at the Museum event of the fall will be offered on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
