SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo animal clinic will no longer be offering after-hours emergency care.
Arden Animal Clinic issued a release stating its decision to end its after-hours emergency service.
The clinic said:
"After heavy deliberation and evaluation, effective immediately, Arden Animal Clinic will no longer offer “after hours emergency services. Arden South Animal Clinic will accept any walk-ins starting after 7:30 a.m. for urgent care. For any after hour emergencies – these practices are in proximity with after hour services:
Emergency Veterinary Clinic – Abilene, TX – (325) 691-1504
Arden Road Animal Clinic and Arden South Animal Clinic will continue business hour operations from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Both of our locations will still be accepting same day appointments, walk-ins, and new clients. We realize this is a transition for our community, but this is also a transition for Arden Animal Clinics and our ability to serve the Concho Valley in the future."

Just the other day, a Tom Green county pit bull suffered notable, child-inflicted maw injuries after hours. Where was the after-hours animal clinic?

PermalinkWhile I worry as a pet owner that this could be detrimental to the pets and families of these pets here in San Angelo, I have to speak from experience for the good folks at Arden road south animal clinic. Finding experienced veterinarians that are available to work on call is a very tall order. Hell finding any type of employee since covid is near impossible. None of the latest generation wants to work, or can afford school in order to learn a profession. Hell they can't even afford a vehicle. The ladies at arden south were working their normal shifts on top of being on call and that can't be something that a person could do consistently and get any sleep. My fur family thanks the group of vets and vet techs at arden south for being there as long as you were. I hope that someone or some people find it in their hearts to open up some emergency services for the domesticated animals of San Angelo but understand that we're only human an shouldn't be obligated to sacrifice our health or well being to be that person.

We still have the strongest military, but you'd think that America's enemies had weaponized the policies put in place over the past 3 decades as some sort of strategic incrementalism. Also "weird" how higher ed teachers tend to be far left nuts.
