Angelo State Rambelles Close Regular Season on the Road

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State will take a 10-game winning streak on the road this week as it closes the 2025-26 regular season with games against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.

The Rambelles face West Texas A&M at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Bank Center in Canyon before traveling to Portales, New Mexico, to play Eastern New Mexico at 2 p.m. Saturday at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.

Angelo State secured its 10th consecutive win during a recent homestand with victories over nationally ranked Lubbock Christian and Midwestern State on Senior Day. The wins clinched a berth in the Lone Star Conference Tournament. Entering the final week of the regular season, the Rambelles are tied for fourth place in the conference standings with Lubbock Christian and Eastern New Mexico.

Scouting Report: West Texas A&M

West Texas A&M enters Thursday’s matchup with a 24-3 overall record and a 16-2 mark in Lone Star Conference play, good for second in the standings. The Lady Buffs are coming off road wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International.

The teams last met Feb. 8, 2025, in Canyon, where West Texas A&M earned a 66-59 victory. Angelo State has won four of the past seven meetings in the series.

The Lady Buffs average 76.1 points per game while shooting 44.2% from the field, 32.9% from 3-point range and 72.2% from the free-throw line. Kyla Kane leads the team with 12.8 points per game, followed by Taylor Haggan (10.8) and Randi Harding (10.1).

Defensively, West Texas A&M allows just over 59 points per game and holds opponents to 36.3% shooting from the field. The Lady Buffs average more than 41 rebounds per game, led by Karley Motschenbacher and Haggan, who each average more than six rebounds per contest.

Scouting Report: Eastern New Mexico

Eastern New Mexico enters the week at 17-9 overall and 13-5 in conference play. The Greyhounds have rebounded from a five-game losing streak with five consecutive wins, including road victories over Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville.

The teams last met on March 3, 2025, in the Lone Star Conference Tournament in Frisco, Texas. Angelo State used a 25-point fourth quarter to secure a 71-61 win and advance to the semifinals.

Eastern New Mexico averages 70.5 points per game while shooting 41.7% from the field, 31.3% from beyond the arc and 62.8% from the free-throw line. Chloe Dallas leads the Greyhounds with 14.2 points per game.

Defensively, ENMU allows 60.1 points per game and holds opponents to 37.8% shooting. The Greyhounds average more than 38.5 rebounds per game, with Dallas leading the team at 7.2 rebounds per contest.
