SAN ANGELO, TX — After trailing all game, the Eldorado Eagles scored late in the fourth quarter and hung on for a 28-24 win over TLCA San Angelo on Friday night at Lake View Stadium.
Eldorado overcame a 24-12 second-half deficit to snap a three-game losing streak and spoil TLCA’s homecoming.
Eldorado pulled within 24-20 after Chuy Martinez scored on a 7-yard touchdown run following a long catch by Brindon Gamez.
Eldorado then took its first lead when Garrett Walling found Martinez for a 24-yard TD pass.
After the teams traded scores on their opening drives, TLCA took a 16-6 lead on a 5-yard TD run by Jackson Chacon before Eldorado answered with a 20-yard TD pass from Walling to Cole Meador.
TLCA then went into halftime with a 24-12 lead after another Chacon TD run from eight yards out.
However, Eldorado’s defense pitched a second-half shutout, and its offense found a way to make clutch plays late.
