Ram Jam, Multiple Home Games Highlight ASU Opening Weekend

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University is inviting the community to take part in the opening weekend of the fall athletics season Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 27-29, including a Ram Jam tailgate party and the season openers for the Rams football team and Rambelles soccer and volleyball teams.

Thursday, Aug. 27

• 1 p.m.: Soccer - ASU Rambelles vs. MSU Denver, LeGrand Soccer Complex
• 4-6 p.m.: Ram Jam - LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center
• During Ram Jam - Free concert by local Texas country band 12 Mile
• 7 p.m.: Football - ASU Rams vs. Fort Hays State, LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field

Friday, Aug. 28

• Noon: Volleyball - ASU Rambelles vs. East Central, Junell Center/Stephens Arena
• 6 p.m.: Volleyball - ASU Rambelles vs. Fort Lewis, Junell Center/Stephens Arena

Saturday, Aug. 29

• 11 a.m.: Soccer - ASU Rambelles vs. CSU Pueblo, LeGrand Soccer Complex
• 3:30 p.m.: Volleyball - ASU Rambelles vs. MSU Moorhead, Junell Center/Stephens Arena
• 7:30 p.m.: Volleyball - ASU Rambelles vs. CSU Pueblo, Junell Center/Stephens Arena

The Rams football game is sponsored by H-E-B and will be a "Blue Out," so all fans are encouraged to wear ASU blue. The Belles volleyball matches are part of the season-opening Kathleen Brasfield Invitational sponsored by Oliver, Rainey and Wojtek.

Ram Jam, presented by City National Bank, and the included concert are free and open to the public. Other activities include performances by the ASU Ram Band and Cheer Team, free food and giveaways. Anyone 21 and over wishing to consume alcohol will need to get a free wristband from the wristband stations at Ram Jam. Each individual must present a valid government-issued photo ID to receive a wristband.

Fans are also encouraged to remember the Clear Bag Policy for ASU athletics events, and fans who can't make it to the games can still follow all the live action on the FloSports digital streaming service.
