RICHARDSON, TX — Angelo State has been picked to repeat as Lone Star Conference volleyball champion in the league's 2026 preseason poll, the conference released Thursday.
The No. 21-ranked Belles received 951 points and 41 of the 54 first-place votes in balloting conducted by conference head coaches, sports information directors and media members.

West Texas A&M was picked second and received seven first-place votes, followed by Lubbock Christian with three first-place votes. St. Mary's, Texas Woman's and DBU each received one first-place vote. Lubbock Christian, UT Tyler and St. Mary's rounded out the top five in the preseason rankings.
Angelo State enters the season after finishing 26-8 overall and 15-2 in conference play in 2025. The Belles won their second consecutive Lone Star Conference regular-season championship, claimed their second straight and 12th overall conference tournament title, and advanced to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional final for the second consecutive season.
The Belles open the 2026 season Friday, Aug. 28, by hosting the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. Angelo State will face East Central, Fort Lewis, MSU Moorhead and CSU Pueblo during the two-day tournament.
