LUBBOCK, TX — Heads up, Texas Tech Alumni, the Texas Tech Red Raiders will officially kick off the 2026 football season with the annual Red Raider Club Kickoff Luncheon on Aug. 20 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
The event will feature head football coach Joey McGuire, who will address fans ahead of the Red Raiders' title defense after winning the 2025 Big 12 Conference championship.
The luncheon is one of Texas Tech's signature preseason events and will also include remarks from Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt, university President Lawrence Schovanec and a panel of Red Raider football student-athletes.
Doors will open at 11:15 a.m., with the program scheduled to begin around noon in the Civic Center's main exhibit hall.
The Goin' Band from Raiderland and the Texas Tech Spirit Squads will perform before the program. Student-athletes from the cross country, volleyball and soccer teams will also attend alongside the football team to celebrate the start of the 2026-27 athletic year.
Individual tickets start at $50, while reserved tables of eight are available for $1,000.
