Concho Valley Athletes Named to All-Region Basketball Team

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Numerous basketball standouts from around the area have earned all-region honors from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Only 25 players from each region were named to the team in their classification.

On the girls’ side, Wall and Mason led the way with three girls each.

Wall’s Jewels Johnson, Kennedi Graves and Kathrine Lewis were named to the Class 3A Region I team after helping the Lady Hawks win the state title.

Mason’s Anna Marie Whitworth, Ainsley Burns and Flora Appleton were named to the 2A Region IV team after they led the Cowgirls to their first-ever setate final.

Other all-region 2A selections included Ozona’s Avery Davidson, Christoval’s Sophie Nemec, Ballinger’s Ysee Le Borgne, Sterling City’s Christina Geary, San Saba’s Chassidy Gonzales and Goldthwaite’s Kenley Howard.

In 1A, selections included Garden City’s Karly Baker and Keegan Batla, Robert Lee’s Bailey Flanagan, Irion County’s Presley Parker and Rocksprings’ Virginia Ramos.

On the boys’ side, Wall, Water Valley, Forsan and Goldthwaite each had two boys named to the all-region team.

Wall’s Paxton Brake and Jager Thompson earned honors in 3A, Forsan’s Koy Evans and Kanyon Myers, and Goldthwaite’s Talyn Gardner and Aidyn Lee earned honors in 2A, and Water Valley’s Landon Lacy and Branson Lacy were honored in 1A.

San Angelo Central’s TK Taylor was named to the team in 6A.

Other 2A selections included Christoval’s Camdin Balderas, Eldorado’s Andrew Whitten and Junction’s Casen Roberts.

Other 1A selections included Veribest’s Bryce Martin, Irion County’s Tyson Sanford, Robert Lee’s Brenner Sherwood and Menard’s Eli Weatherly.
