Angelo State Rams Top West Texas A&M in OT for Patel’s 200th Win

 

CANYON, TX — Angelo State men's basketball coach Vinay Patel earned his 200th career win Thursday in the Rams' 76-68 overtime victory at West Texas A&M.

Patel accomplished the milestone in the arena where his coaching journey began 20 years ago as a WT graduate assistant.

Patel now has an overall record of 200-138. He holds a 79-43 record as head coach of the Rams over four seasons.

ASU’s Ashraf Barsham recorded his first double-double for the Rams with 19 points and 11 rebounds to go along with two steals and a block.

Jordan Crawford scored 15 points and had seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Quadir Pettaway scored 12 points, while Zyon Little had four points and 10 rebounds.

The Rams are now 17-13 overall and 8-11 in Lone Star Conference play. They close out the season Saturday at No. 12 Eastern New Mexico. WT fell to 19-10, 11-8.
