Angelo State Tennis to Put Unbeaten Record to the Test on the Road

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State’s women’s tennis team will travel to Oklahoma this weekend for matches against Arkansas Tech and Southeastern Oklahoma as the Rambelles look to extend their undefeated start to the season.

Angelo State, 7-0, faces Arkansas Tech at noon Friday in Edmond, Oklahoma, before taking on Southeastern Oklahoma at 11 a.m. Saturday in Durant, Oklahoma.

Head coach Jason Potthoff is in his fourth season leading the program. The Rambelles finished 15-7 last year and have opened the 2026 campaign with seven consecutive victories.

Sophomore Margaux Rene, of Soisy-sur-Seine, France, returns as one of the nation’s top-ranked players. She is ranked No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason poll after earning Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year honors last season with a team-best 17-5 singles record.

Sophomore Benedetta Raggiotti also returns after posting a 14-7 singles mark a year ago.

The Rambelles added five freshmen and one transfer to the roster: Danaiya Amangazhiyeva (Almaty, Kazakhstan), Jade Bestagno (Sainte-Maxime, France), Sasa Felixova (Sala, Slovakia), Anastasiia Melnikova (Moscow, Russia), Anna Waché (Paris, France) and Vasilissa Kupriianova (Ryazan, Russia), a transfer from North Georgia.

Raggiotti and Felixova are tied for the team lead with six singles wins. Raggiotti (6-0), Amangazhiyeva (5-0) and Rene (4-0) remain unbeaten in singles play. As a team, the Rambelles are 34-5 in singles competition.

In doubles, the pairing of Raggiotti and Rene leads the team with a 6-0 record. Angelo State is 16-4 overall in doubles matches this season.
