Central Bobcats Dominate Midland Legacy to Claim First Place in District

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Central Bobcats delivered another impressive performance on their home court on Tuesday night. The Bobcats dominated Midland Legacy from start to finish, claiming an important district win, 79-43.

With the win, the Bobcats held onto first place in District 2-6A, tied for the top spot with Odessa Permian. Central avenged its only district loss at Legacy earlier this season.

"We knew we had to win this one here at home," head coach Arsenio Geter said after the victory. "This one was big because they got us over there in Midland. That loss has been in the back of our heads since it happened."

Central improved to 24-5 overall and 5-1 in district, while Legacy fell to 10-16, 4-2.

Central jumped to a lead early through what would carry the Bobcats all night: 3-point shooting and suffocating defense. Five different Bobcats hit threes in the contest as Central continually built a larger and larger lead throughout the game. On the other side of the floor, Legacy had a tough time getting anything going because of Central's press defense.

The Bobcats only allowed 15 points in the first half and led by 24 points at the break.

In the second half, Central fought off an early run by the Rebels before the Bobcats' fast-break offense took over again. Central outscored Legacy 40-28 in the second half.

Ean McNeill continues to be the driving force behind the Bobcats' offense this season. He led the team in points yet again with 24. Cristian Casillas also had a fantastic offensive performance. The young man finished with 15 points.

Next up, the Bobcats travel to Lubbock on Friday to face off with the Frenship Tigers. Tip-off in that matchup is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
