First Legacy Class ShareLunker of Season Caught at O.H. Ivie

SAN ANGELO, TX — O.H. Ivie again backed up its reputation as one of the best fishing lakes in Texas after the first Legacy Class ShareLunker of the season was caught there Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Charles Roberts of Trinity reeled in a 13.75-pound bass from the lake about 45 miles east of San Angelo.

Bass that weigh in at 13 pounds or more earn Legacy Class status if they're loaned to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the ShareLunker selective breeding and stocking program between Jan. 1 and March 31.

Anglers can call the ShareLunker hotline at 903-681-0550 to report their catch at any hour of the day through March 31.

O.H. Ivie has been the state’s top-producing lake for Legacy Class ShareLunkers in recent years. Texas had 14 Legacy Class bass last season, and six of them were pulled out of Ivie.
