San Angelo District Town Hall Meetings Begin Today

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The City of San Angelo launches a series of district town hall meetings this week to update residents on local projects and introduce the new city manager. 

The first meeting is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, for District 3, hosted by Council Member Harry Thomas at Immanuel Baptist Church, 90 E. 14th St.

Council members will provide brief updates on district projects and citywide initiatives. Attendees will also meet City Manager Phillip Urrutia. Most of each session will focus on questions and discussions with city departments. 

All San Angelo residents and business owners are invited, regardless of district. Each meeting will emphasize the host district. 

Additional meetings this week for District 1, hosted by Council Member Tommy Hiebert, are set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Southgate Church of Christ, 528 Country Club Road, and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Sierra Vista Methodist Church, 4522 College Hills Blvd. 

Later meetings include:

  • District 4 with Council Member Patrick Keely, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 1 at Calvary Baptist Fellowship, 2401 Armstrong St.
  • District 6 with Council Member Mary Coffey, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2 at The Heights Church, 4512 Sherwood Way
  • District 5 with Council Member Karen Hesse Smith, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 2309 S. A&M Ave.
  • District 2 with Council Member Joe Self, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Lake View Bible Church, 4825 Grape Creek Road
