SAN ANGELO, TX — Northbound access to businesses along Chadbourne Street between Harris and College Avenues opened Friday, Aug. 21, after concrete work was completed, according to a city construction update.
Barricades will shift to the south side parking lot driveways near the Harris intersection (church parking lot). Drivers may make U-turns or exit through the lot if needed. Small touch-up work remains but will not affect access. Lane striping will be added after the Harris intersection is finished, with parking striping to follow later using thermoplastic. Street lighting for the section will be installed with the next phase of work.
Work on the Harris intersection, which began Aug. 12, remains in progress. Blaine’s parking lot driveway has been poured, and intersection corners are scheduled for completion next week. Crews will continue through the intersection and then move eastward as sections finish. The work is still on schedule to wrap up the week of Sept. 21; any delays will be announced.
Between Beauregard and Harris, fencing has been installed. Street lighting is on schedule for manufacture in October, with installation in the following weeks. Temporary striping will allow that section to open soon.
Work at the College intersection is upcoming and will cover Gillis Street to about 150 feet east of the intersection, plus up to 40 feet north. Traffic will retain full access from the south up to College. Notices were sent this week to nearby property owners. City of San Angelo construction managers plan to visit next week to answer questions and can arrange a group meeting if needed. More details are expected soon.
