Tom Green County Deputies Help Stranded Motorists

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently assisted two groups of motorists facing vehicle troubles on local roads, the agency said in a Facebook post Wednesday.

In one case, deputies from the Bravo (night) shift responded after a vehicle was reported twice as appearing to need help. They found a family of four from out of town dealing with car problems and illness. Deputies helped the family continue their trip. The family later thanked the deputies in a message to the sheriff’s office.

While handling that call, deputies from the Charlie (day) shift aided a driver who had run out of gas on the highway. They located a gas can, filled it and provided fuel so the motorist could reach a station and resume travel.

The sheriff’s office said such assistance occurs regularly but is seldom publicized. It thanked the community for its support.
