Tom Green County Deputies Join TxDOT Effort Against Impaired Driving

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation on an enhanced traffic safety initiative aimed at identifying and removing impaired drivers from roadways.

The enforcement effort runs from Aug. 14 through Sept. 7 and covers the start of the school year and the Labor Day holiday period. Additional deputies will be deployed throughout the county to support TxDOT’s work to detect, deter and prevent impaired driving.

Sheriff’s officials urged motorists to make responsible decisions as students return to school and families travel for the holiday.

“The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to keeping our roads safe,” the office said in a statement. “Plan ahead, drive sober, and help us ensure everyone reaches their destination safely.”
