SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 5:45 p.m. Monday in the Board Room of the district’s Administration Building, 1621 University, to review the preliminary budget for the 2026-27 school year, consider a guaranteed maximum price for construction at Glenn Middle School and address grievances.
The budget workshop portion of the agenda calls for trustees to review the preliminary budget, set a date for a public meeting to discuss the budget and proposed tax rate, set the proposed tax rate for publication in the required notice, and consider approval of the 2026 certified appraisal roll.
Trustees also will consider a guaranteed maximum price proposal from Lee Lewis Construction for the Glenn Middle School bond project.
A closed session is scheduled for a hearing on grievances filed by Jamal Schumpert, including consultation with legal counsel. After returning to open session, the board will consider and take possible action on the grievances.
Additional agenda items include board updates and reports on the district’s visual identity, bond construction progress and the accountability timeline, as well as a review of the proposed agenda for the Aug. 24 regular board meeting.
The meeting opens with a call to order, establishment of a quorum, the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States and Texas flags, and public comments.
