SAN ANGELO, TX — A widespread internet outage in San Angelo has extended into Thursday.
The good news is that the issue is expected to be resolved by around noon, according to a spokesperson with Conterra Networks.
Internet service was knocked out for numerous people in the city when a worker for a construction company cut a fiber-optic cable while digging, the Conterra representative said.
It’s believed the incident occurred late Tuesday afternoon.
It was hoped the fiber line could be repaired Wednesday, but a new update was issued Thursday morning targeting noon today.
Conterra owns and operates a 15,000-mile fiber network that spans across 22 states. Numerous internet service providers use Conterra’s fiber-optic cables.
