SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts invites the public to spend an afternoon with acclaimed songwriter Carol Elliott on Sunday, July 19.
This event features both an exclusive interview and a hands-on songwriting workshop as part of the museum's Legendary Songwriter Series.
The afternoon begins with an exclusive interview from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the SAMFA Grand Hall.
According to a SAMFA press release, Executive Director Seth Hopkins will interview Elliott about her songwriting process, the inspiration behind her work, and her remarkable career.
Live musical performances will be woven throughout the conversation, giving audiences a chance to hear the stories behind the songs.
Following the interview, Elliott will lead a songwriting workshop from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Participants of all experience levels are encouraged to bring their best song ideas and join this interactive session, where Elliott will offer guidance and insight into the craft of songwriting.
Elliott will share stories from her early career working around Nashville legends as well as her current role as a Music Ambassador for the Texas Commission on the Arts, where she promotes songwriting and music education throughout the state.
The Legendary Songwriter Series offers audiences a unique opportunity to hear directly from accomplished songwriters while celebrating the art of songwriting through conversation, live performance, and creative participation.
