San Angelo ISD Board Approves Elementary Attendance Boundary Adjustments

SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees approved elementary attendance boundary adjustments during the June 15, 2026, regular board meeting in a 6-1 vote.

The new attendance boundaries will take effect on July 1, 2027, prior to the start of the 2027-2028 school year.

According to San Angelo ISD, the boundary adjustments are designed to balance enrollment across the district, improve operational efficiency and support long-term student needs in response to declining enrollment and budget pressures.

The approved attendance zones are the result of months of work by the San Angelo ISD Committee on Academics, Stewardship and Efficiency (CASE), a community-based committee tasked with reviewing district enrollment data, campus capacities and demographic trends. The committee met six times throughout the spring semester before presenting its recommendation to district administration and the Board of Trustees.

Like many school districts across Texas and the nation, San Angelo ISD continues to experience declining enrollment and changing demographic patterns, San Angelo ISD stated. The approved attendance boundaries are intended to better align student populations with available campus capacity and support the district's long-term financial sustainability.
