Irion County Lions Club to Host 5th Annual Rain Dance Fundraiser

 

MERTZON, TX — The Irion County Lions Club will hold its 5th Annual Rain Dance, the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year, on Saturday, May 16, at Hoolihan Acres to raise money for school scholarships. 

The family-friendly event will feature dinner, dancing and a silent auction. A barbecue brisket dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m., with dancing from 7 to 11 p.m. Entertainment will include Case Hardin and J. Rodney Dunn & the Spring Creek Band. 

Individual tickets cost $50 and tables for eight are $400. Attendees should bring their own beverages. Children under 10 get in free. 

The club awarded 16 scholarships last year and plans to award 13 this year. It gives a scholarship to every applicant attending higher education, including technical schools.
