Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Surpasses $90,000 Goal

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Salvation Army’s familiar red kettles may have been packed away for the season, but the impact of the 2025 Red Kettle Campaign will continue throughout 2026 thanks to the generosity of the San Angelo community.

The annual fundraising effort, which ran from early November through Christmas Eve, exceeded expectations. The Salvation Army raised $110,000, surpassing its goal of $90,000.

“I am excited to announce that The Salvation Army surpassed our 2025 red kettle fundraising goal of $90,000 and actually raised $110,000. This represents a tremendous effort from our bell ringers, staff, and volunteers, and especially the community, who gave so generously to The Salvation Army throughout the Christmas season. I want to say thank you to everyone who donated, including businesses, donors, supporters, and corporate partners,” said Major Alfonso Martinez. “We simply couldn’t do it with you all! The budgeted goal represents the minimum amount we need to support The Salvation Army’s year-round programs and services here in San Angelo. However, the more we raise, the more people we can help.”

Martinez noted that the budgeted goal represents the minimum needed to support year-round programs in San Angelo, and that additional funds mean more individuals and families can be served.

While The Salvation Army is most visible during the holidays, the organization provides essential services year-round. In San Angelo, those include emergency shelter, weekly food distribution, clothing vouchers, disaster relief, youth programs and more.

“The funds raised at the red kettles stay right here in our community. Your holiday giving makes change every day at The Salvation Army,” said Martinez. “When a family comes to us because they can’t afford to put food on the table, it’s your donation that makes it possible for us to hand them a food box. When someone needs a warm, safe place to spend the night, your gifts mean we can offer a bed in our shelter and a hot meal.  And when a child climbs onto the bus headed to summer camp for the first time, your support helps provide a week that child will never forget. Thank you! Thank you on behalf of the countless people you will never meet who will come to The Salvation Army this year with nowhere else to turn. Your support means we will be there to share help, hope, and love, in all situations.”

The Salvation Army encourages community members to stay involved throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities and donation options are available by calling 325-655-6981, visiting 122 W. 2nd St., or going online to https://southernusa.salvationarmy.org/san-angelo.

The Salvation Army annually assists nearly 24 million Americans struggling with poverty, addiction and economic hardship through a wide range of social services. With nearly 7,000 centers of operation nationwide, the organization provides food assistance, disaster relief, rehabilitation programs, and shelter services to those in need.
