SAN ANGELO, TX — Families in San Angelo can follow Santa Claus’ Christmas Eve journey in real time through the NORAD Santa Tracker, an annual holiday tradition operated by the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
The tracker follows Santa as he progresses through global time zones on Christmas Eve, visiting regions as night falls.
According to NORAD, Santa typically begins his journey near the International Date Line and visits the South Pacific, Asia, Europe, Canada, the United States and beyond. The exact route can vary due to weather and other conditions.
NORAD officials say Santa generally arrives at homes only after children are asleep, often between 9 p.m. and midnight on Christmas Eve. The tracker does not predict exact arrival times for individual homes.
The Santa Tracker tradition dates back to 1955 and has continued annually for nearly seven decades. The tracking map updates Santa’s last known location, next destination and estimated gift count throughout the night.
The tracker is available at noradsanta.org.

The real Santa Claus was a bishop from Myra, in present day Turkey. He died on December 6, 343 CE. Krampus, however, is very alive and very real. He cases houses and vehicles for burglary throughout the year, bribes government officials and swoops down from the sky to reign terror on the populace. Do you really know who's in our skies?
