SAN ANGELO, TX — Three events Thursday at the San Angelo Rodeo will feature the No. 1-ranked competitor in the world.
Barrel racer Kassie Mowry, tie-down roper Riley Webb and bareback rider Bradlee Miller are all at the top of the PRCA world standings in their respective events.
Mowry and Webb are also the defending world champions.
They’re part of a stacked lineup looking to secure a spot in Friday’s finals.
Barrel racing has the most impressive field Thursday as it also includes No. 2 LaTricia Duke, No. 3 Hailey Kinsell and No. 4 Emily Beisel.
Bareback riding has No. 2 Rocker Steiner and No. 7 Mason Stuller, along with San Angelo’s Wyatt Williams and Richland Springs’ Jaspur Farris.
The No. 2-ranked team roping duo of Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nunes Nogueira will also be competing.
To further illustrate the talent compiled in San Angelo tonight, fans will see the No. 5 steer wrestler (Bridger Anderson), the No. 6 saddle bronc rider (Chase Brooks) and the No. 7 bull rider (Luke “Colorado Kid” Mackey).
After tonight, the field will be set for Friday’s finals, though the 94th annual San Angelo Rodeo won’t be finished just yet. We’ll still have the all-star Cinch Chute-Out on Saturday and Tejano Day on Sunday.
