Pfluger Declares Victory in Texas 11th Congressional District Race

SAN ANGELO, TX -- U.S. Rep. August Pfluger released a statement Tuesday evening declaring victory in his reelection bid for Texas’ 11th Congressional District, thanking voters across Central and West Texas for their support.

“It is the honor of a lifetime to continue serving the hardworking people of Texas’ 11th District,” Pfluger said in the statement posted on X. “To every family across Central and West Texas who placed their trust in me once again, thank you. My family and I are deeply grateful for the privilege of carrying your values to Washington and standing up for the Texas way of life.”

He described the communities in the district as “the best in America, built by kind, honest, and hardworking people who love their neighbors, honor their faith, and believe in the promise of this country.”

Pfluger said the result reflected “those common sense, family-first values” and outlined priorities for the next Congress, including affordability, lowering the cost of living, unleashing American energy, cutting spending, and keeping taxes low.

Polls across the district closed at 7 p.m. Full official results from the Texas Secretary of State and county election offices were not yet available as of 8:30 p.m.

Early partial returns tracked by the prediction market Kalshi showed Pfluger leading with about 16.8 percent of the vote counted, with 27,634 votes to 16,394 for Democratic challenger Claire Reynolds — a margin of roughly 19.5 percentage points at that stage.

Texas’ 11th District has been rated a safe Republican seat by multiple nonpartisan forecasters heading into Election Day.

On Point Politics projected Pfluger to win with about 61.6 percent of the vote and a 99 percent chance of victory based on its model.

Ballotpedia and other outlets similarly listed the race as solidly Republican. Pfluger, a San Angelo Republican and former Air Force officer, has represented the district since 2021.

He faced Claire Reynolds, a Democrat, in the general election after running unopposed in the Republican primary.
