Brady ISD Drops School Photo Company Due to Epstein Rumors

BRADY, TX — Brady ISD announced Tuesday that it will no longer use Lifetouch for its school photos due to rumors that the business is associated with late convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Numerous other schools around the country have also recently dropped the photo company’s service.

“We are aware of the concerns surrounding the photo company Lifetouch,” Brady ISD stated. “We want our students, families, and staff to feel safe about the vendors we use to provide those services. Moving forward we will no longer be using Lifetouch and will be handling our school portraits in house. We want to assure you that Brady ISD is committed to providing a safe and positive environment for everyone we serve.”

Lifetouch, which is based out of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is not named in the Epstein files. However, Leon Black, the former CEO of Apollo Global Management — which acquired Shutterfly, the parent company of Lifetouch — is named in the Epstein files.

Apollo Global Management acquired Shutterfly in September 2019, one month after Epstein’s death. He left the company in March 2021 amid criticism for his connection to Epstein.

Lifetouch Group CEO Ken Murphy has stated that “neither Apollo nor its funds are involved in the day-to-day operations of Lifetouch, and therefore no one employed by Apollo has ever had access to any student images.”

Brady ISD stated it will now be handling school portraits in house.
