McCamey Child Killed From Accidental Gunshot

 

McCAMEY, TX — A 3-year-old boy from the small West Texas town of McCamey died this week after he apparently shot himself in the forehead, the Upton County Sheriff’s Office stated.

According to a press release, a 9-1-1 call was received at 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from a caller saying her son had accidentally shot himself.

Paramedics transported the child to McCamey County Hospital, where he was then flown to Lubbock University Medical Center.

The child succumbed to his injuries in Lubbock.

The Texas Rangers are now investigating the case.

McCamey is located about 105 miles southwest of San Angelo.
