SAN ANGELO, TX — A 20-year-old Miles man is being held without bond after San Angelo police arrested him Friday on grand jury indictments charging him with murder, aggravated assault and engaging in organized criminal activity in a May 10 shooting that killed one man and wounded a woman, according to court records and the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeremiah Seth Sanchez faces first-degree felony murder and engaging in organized criminal activity charges in the death of Jaborien Cook, whom authorities say Sanchez shot with a firearm. He is also charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly shooting Ariana Branton with a firearm and causing her bodily injury, court documents state.

Prosecutors allege Sanchez acted as a member of the Southside 25 street gang in both incidents. He faces an additional third-degree felony charge of tampering with physical evidence for allegedly concealing one or more firearms to impair a homicide and gunshot investigation.

The 51st District Court grand jury returned the three indictments on July 16. Sanchez was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at about 8 p.m. Aug. 7 on the murder, aggravated assault and organized crime charges. Bond was denied.
Codefendants listed in the cases are Nikolai Sanchez, Zachary Garza and Cebazztiun Perez.
