Abilene Teenager Dies After Weekend Shooting

 

ABILENE, TX — A 17-year-old Abilene girl died Sunday after being shot the previous day.

The girl was shot at about 3 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 2000 block of North 16th Street, according to the Abilene Police Department.

She was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, where she died from her injuries.

Nathan Burnett Jr., 19, and Alex Andaverde, 21, were arrested in connection to the shooting.

Burnett was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and theft of a firearm, while Andaverde was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Both are being held in the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling $510,000.
