San Angelo Man Arrested on 2019 Intoxication Manslaughter Warrant

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A 28-year-old San Angelo man was arrested Tuesday on a capias warrant for intoxication manslaughter in a 2019 crash that killed a woman, according to court records. 

Ismael Rojero Hinojos Jr. was booked into custody by the San Angelo City Marshal at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle, a second-degree felony.

According to the indictment, Hinojos is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated on or about July 6, 2019, in Tom Green County and causing the death of Amanda Soto by driving the vehicle into a tree.

The Tom Green County grand jury indicted Hinojos on May 4, 2022, in the 119th District Court. A capias was issued May 11, 2022. 

Hinojos was served with the warrant Tuesday. Court records show he appeared before a magistrate Wednesday morning for admonitions and did not request an attorney. He was released from custody at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. 

The case remains pending in the 119th District Court.
