Dog Leaves in Police Cruiser After Crash On Knickerbocker

SAN ANGELO, TX — A two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon in San Angelo left a woman and her dog stranded on the side of the road.

When she was unable to find a ride, a San Angelo police officer loaded her and the dog into his vehicle to drive them home.

The crash occurred about 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of Knickerbocker Road and Loop 306 when a Chevy Malibu was T-boned by a Ford pickup truck.

The Chevy was towed from the scene while the Ford was able to drive away.

The dog initially escaped the heat by crawling beneath the truck before he was able to jump in the police cruiser.

Traffic was backed up at the busy intersection until workers were able to clear the road.

No other information was available from police.
