3 Taken to Hospital After Crash Near Downtown

SAN ANGELO, TX — A three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon sent three people to the hospital.

The crash occurred about 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of West 1st and Koenigheim streets.

According to a traffic officer with the San Angelo Police Department, the driver of a blue Honda HR-V attempted to cross the roadway from West 1st Street when it wasn’t clear of traffic.

The Honda first collided with a white Dodge Charger, redirecting it off the roadway, where it “barely missed a tree.”

The Honda then continued across Koenigheim and crashed into a parked car in the parking lot of Discount Tire.

Two people were taken to the hospital from the Honda, while another was taken to the hospital from the Dodge. No one was in the parked car that was hit.

The driver of the Honda will be cited for failure to yield the right of way.
