Marilyn Fairchild, 73, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Mrs. Fairchild was born on November 21, 1952 in San Angelo to Elwood and Loretta Stewart Cook. She graduated form Central High School in 1971 and then from Angelo State University with a degree in education. Marilyn was a teacher at Lakeview High School for one year before returning to Angelo State University and obtaining a degree in Health Information management. She worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital for 15 years, retiring as Director of Medical Records. Marilyn married Russell Lynn Fairchild on May 18, 1973. He passed away on November 28, 2016.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, crocheting, and knitting. Her favorite drink was Diet Coke. She was sassy, kind-hearted, and smart. Marilyn gave her love so freely. She cared deeply about her family and always wanted the best for her grandchildren. Her kindness, patience, and unconditional love left a lasting mark on all of us. We will forever be grateful for the memories, the lessons, and the love she gave.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Lynn Fairchild; a son, Russell Elwood Fairchild; and her sister, Carilyn Talley.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Fairchild and Amanda Anders both of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Cheyanne Samaniego of San Angelo, Alyeska Samaniego of San Antonio, Calista Lara and husband Seth of San Angelo, and Hunter Anders of San Angelo; and a great granddaughter, Elena Samaniego.
