Juan Garza, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the age of 74.
Mr. Garza was born on January 26, 1952, in San Angelo, Juan was the cherished son of the late Jose and Petra Garza.
Juan's life was marked by love, laughter, and a dedication to family and community. He was the devoted husband of Rebecca Garza, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage of 54 years. Their journey together began on December 3, 1971, in their hometown of San Angelo. Together, they built a family blessed with 4 children, John Martin Garza, Libby Robles and husband Raul, III, Leonor Duran and husband Genaro, Jr., and Jose Joaquin Garza that became the center of Juan's world. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, James, Candace, Septiembre, Briana, Skye, Jonmarc, Genaro, III, Haleigh, Raul, IV; and seven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
An alumnus of Central High School, Juan went on to dedicate 30 years of hard work and commitment to Newman Outdoor/Lamar Outdoor Advertising as an outdoor billboard installer. His work ethic and craftsmanship were admired by all who knew him.
Juan was a man of faith, a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he found spiritual nourishment and community. Beyond his faith and work, Juan had a zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was trying his luck with scratch-off tickets, visiting casinos, or tending to his cherished plants. He loved spending time outdoors, working on various projects, and most of all, being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light to his life.
Known for his selflessness and generosity, Juan had an infectious sense of humor and a talent for bringing smiles to those around him. He was a natural jokester, always ready with a quip or a story to lighten the mood and share a laugh. His wisdom spoke to many, he always had the best advice to guide those he loved.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Petra Garza, and his sister, Josie Morales.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. Juan's legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2026 ar Robeert Massie Riveside Chapel. A service to honor Juan's life will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Deacon Jesse Aguire, officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who touched so many lives with warmth, humor, and unwavering love.
Juan Garza's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and laughter. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
