Raised in Brady as the youngest of three daughters, JoBeth carried forward a steady warmth that made others feel welcome, along with a spirit that leaned naturally toward the open road and the next outing.
JoBeth worked at GTE until retiring at 55. She also owned JoBeth's Liquor Store—its sign still standing on Arden Road—and at various times owned five bars. In each chapter of work and enterprise, she met life with an independent mind and a readiness to take on what needed doing.
Early in life, JoBeth was briefly married and had one child, Randell “Randy" Jones. She is also remembered with love by her daughter-in-law, Tammy, two sisters, Patsy and Doris; her grandchildren, Amanda and Philip; various nieces; one nephew; and five great-grandchildren.
Away from work, JoBeth found joy in camping and lake activities, and in the easy companionship of time spent with her best friends. She also loved horses and her pet mule, and she made room in her days for the simple pleasures that brought laughter, stories, and lasting closeness.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of San Angelo for their care and support.
We will miss you, JoBeth. Thank you for the great memories. We love you.
